On May 19, the 7th China Huating Lake International Open Water Swimming Competition kicked off in Taihu county, Anhui province.

A total of 1654 athletes from 66 teams at home and abroad participated in the competition, including foreign athletes from Russia, Belarus, France, Italy, Belgium, and Kazakhstan.

The event is guided by the Swimming Management Center of General Administration of Sport of China, and China Swimming Association, and hosted by the Administration of Sport of Anhui Province and Anqing Municipal Government.

The competition has become the most influential sports event, the most recognizable sports brand, and the most representative sports name card in Taihu county. Supporting and participating in sports have come into vogue among the people of all ages in Taihu.
