The global press conference on an event titled "Changjiang Ballad" which is aimed to discover Changjiang Civilization through Culture, Ecology and Transportation was held in Hefei City, Anhui Province on September 20, 2023.

Winding its way from the majestic snow mountains to the vast East China Sea for more than 6,000 kilometers, the Yangtze River gave birth to diverse and splendid cultures and nourished the ever-growing Chinese civilization and hardworking and courageous Chinese people. The Yangtze River Economic Belt spanning China’s eastern, central and western regions covers 11 provinces and municipalities, with its population and economic aggregate accounting for half of the country. It is a pilot demonstration belt for ecological progress, a golden economic belt with great potential, and a belt for a well-off society in an all-round way.

Every year, the event plans to invite foreign diplomatic envoys, famous experts and scholars from home and abroad specializing in culture, transportation, ecology, technology, and archaeology as well as media journalists, celebrities and foreign students to trace the cultural roots of the Yangtze River and showcase local highlights in an easy-to-understand way. It will demonstrate the achievements in transportation, scientific and technological development, and environmental protection along the Yangtze River Economic Belt since the 18th CPC National Congress, and interpret the contemporary connotation and humanistic feelings of the Yangtze River culture to better promote Chinese culture to the world.
