The 2023 World Manufacturing Convention themed “Intelligent Manufacturing for a Better Future” ended successfully on September 24, 2023. This manufacturing convention featured the highest number of participants, the largest exhibition area, the richest activities, the highest degree of external contact and the most extensive publicity coverage.

In this manufacturing convention, a total of 16,000 guests and representatives from home and abroad were invited. It is worth noting that the number of foreign envoys in China and representatives of Hong Kong and Macao coming to this convention is the highest since the first World Manufacturing Convention held in Anhui Province. A foreign diplomatic mission consisting of ambassadors from 9 countries including Angola and South Africa and senior diplomats from 8 countries including the Maldives and the Philippines was invited to this convention to visit Anhui. A series of activities themed "Journey into Europe" were carried out in the convention for the first time, and the convention promotion and projects attraction were launched in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and other countries, further deepening international cooperation.

The manufacturing convention also set up a special exhibition for participating countries, inviting 39 enterprises in China’s Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions and 8 countries including France, South Korea, and Israel to participate in the exhibition, with a total of 135 products on display, showing the new trend of global manufacturing change.
With an area of 80,000 square meters, a total of 974 enterprises were organized to participate in this year's convention and more than 3,000 products were displayed. During the convention, the total number of offline visitors reached 359,000 and online visits reached 13.828 million, and the number of visitors and exhibitors, the length of visit and the exhibition area were the highest in all previous conventions. Among them, the number of one-day visitors exceeded 100,000 on September 23, setting a record for all previous one-day visitors.

From the perspective of project results, "600" Project-matchmaking Meetings were deepened in this convention, including centrally-administered state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, multinational companies, Hong Kong and Macao enterprises, Taiwan enterprises, and overseas Chinese enterprises, with a total of 587 signed cooperation projects and an investment of 342.5 billion yuan. Among them, there were 534 manufacturing projects with an investment of 306 billion yuan, accounting for 91% of all projects and 89% of total investment respectively. (Liu Jingwen)
