Hefei, located in the middle of Anhui Province, connecting the east and west, is a sub-central city in the Yangtze River Delta urban cluster, with an area of 11,400 square kilometers and a permanent population of about 9.634 million.

Hefei is named after two rivers originating from this city, namely, the Dongfei River and the Nanfei River. In 1952, Hefei became the capital city of Anhui Province and served as the political, economic, cultural, information, transportation, financial, and commercial center of the province.

Hefei has benefited from the multiplying effects of the construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the "Yangtze River Economic Belt". It's a member city of the G60 science and innovation corridor. As a comprehensive transportation hub of national significance, the city's "star-shaped" high-speed rail network has basically formed with the mileage and density of railway ranking first among major cities in the Yangtze River Delta area. Hefei has achieved fruitful results in the construction of the comprehensive national science center, the first national laboratory has been settled and put into operation, and intelligent voice has become a national advanced manufacturing cluster. Hefei is also the permanent site of the World Manufacturing Convention.
