Located in the southwest of Anhui Province, Chizhou covers an area of 8,399 square kilometers with a permanent population of about 1.328 million.

Chizhou is rich in cultural and tourism resources, with one 5A-level and seventeen 4A-level tourist attractions. Jiuhua Mountain is one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China with profound religious culture. Guniujiang, a "museum of natural history", boasts abundant biological resources and excellent ecological environment. Shengjin Lake, known as "China Crane Lake", is a national natural reserve and an important wetland in the world. Chizhou is fully integrating into the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, with 6 provincial-level or above development zones as the main platforms, and stepping up efforts to accelerate the development of emerging industries like semiconductors, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital economy, new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, health care and elderly care, green food, cultural tourism and creativity.
