Located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, Ma'anshan covers an area of 4,044 square kilometers and has a permanent population of about 2.186 million.
Ma'anshan boasts a long history. 300,000 years ago, Hexian Man flourished here and was recognized as the representative of Homo erectus in the south. Lingjiatan Site in Hanshan County dates back to about 5,800 to 5,300 years ago, known as the "dawn of Chinese civilization", and was selected in the national "100 Major archaeological discoveries" and the National Archaeological Site Park list. Ma'anshan is an open city with a superior location. It just takes 17 minutes to Nanjing by high-speed rail, and 40 minutes to Nanjing Lukou International Airport. In addition, the subway to Nanjing is under construction. Ma'anshan has been established and developed as a city with steel industry as its dominant industry, and emerging industries, modern service industry and modern agriculture are developing with strong momentum at the same time.
