Located in the east of Anhui Province, Chuzhou is adjacent to Nanjing to the east and Hefei to the west. With an area of 13,300 square kilometers and a permanent population of 4.05 million, Chuzhou City is a central city of Nanjing metropolitan area and Hefei economic area, as well as one of the core cities in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.

Chuzhou is known for its beautiful landscape: the beautiful Langya Mountain is a national key scenic spot, the plain and elegant Pavilion of the Old Drunkard is the best of the four famous pavilions, and the Imperial Mausoleum of the Ming Dynasty is magnificent. Chuzhou is the hometown of many historical and cultural celebrities such as Lu Su, Xu Da, Qi Jiguang, and Wu Jingzi. The Story of the Old Drunkard's Pavilion and the satirical novel The Scholars are renowned at home and abroad. In 1978, 18 farmers in Xiaogang Village, Fengyang County signed the household contract, marking the beginning of China's reform and opening-up in the countryside. In recent years, Chuzhou has firmly admitted to a new development concept and fully leveraged its unique geographical advantages to seize opportunities of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and promote its high-quality development.
