Situated in the northwest of Anhui Province, Fuyang covers an area of 10,118 square kilometers with a permanent population of approximately 8.141 million.
Fuyang is a renowned cultural city with a long history. Fuyang is the birthplace of Laozhuang culture and the hometown of Guan Zhong. Ouyang Xiu and Su Shi, two great writers of the Northern Song Dynasty, once served as the governor of Yingzhou. Papercut in Fuyang, flower drum lantern in Yingshang, painted pottery in Jieshou and acrobatics in Linquan are included in the national intangible cultural heritage list. The bronze with tiger and dragon decorations of the Shang Dynasty unearthed in Funan County is listed as one of China’s top ten national treasures of bronzes.
Fuyang is a green agricultural product production, processing, and supply base in the Yangtze River Delta region, and a main production area of commodity grain, cotton, and meat, with an annual grain output of over 10 billion jin.
Fuyang has broad prospects and remarkable traffic advantages. It is a key city under the development plan of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, a gathering area for industrial transfer in northern Anhui, and a base for emerging manufacturing and new energy in the Central Plains region.
