Walking into the Huainan Economic and Technological Development Zone, you can sense a positive atmosphere at the sight of lush trees and well-ordered factories. Founded in 1988, the zone is one of the earliest development zones in Anhui province, and was promoted to a national-level development zone in 2013, and thus became the only national development zone in northern Anhui.

In recent years, Huainan Economic and Technological Development Zone has opened up new tracks and developed the medical and health industry. "Through nearly 20 years of overseas brand promotion, our pharmaceutical excipient products have expanded from the original markets in Southeast Asia and South America to today's high-end markets in Europe and North America with the export value increasing 1,300 times." Yin Zhenglong, a director of a pharmaceutical enterprise in Huainan Economic and Technological Development Zone, stated that he witnessed the rapid rise of the new medical and health industry in the zone.

Nowadays, the medical industry is clustering in Huainan Economic and Technological Development Zone with an ever-growing innovation ability, attracting more pharmaceutical companies to gather here, and leading to a stronger medical industry. At present, the zone has a total of 12 industrial pharmaceutical enterprises above designated size, including 5 enterprises with an annual output value exceeding over 100 million yuan and 1 enterprise with an annual output value of more than 1 billion yuan.
