In the hot summer, workers are testing a batch of automated grain packaging equipment about to be exported overseas with rice in the production workshop of Anhui Yongcheng Electronic & Machinery Technology Co., ltd. in the Lu'an Economic and Technological Development Zone. Lv Xiaodong, deputy general manager of that company, told the reporter that after years of innovative research and development, now unmanned packaging can be achieved by the company's equipment, and a packaging production line only need one to two maintenance personnel.

In recent years, Lu'an Economic Development Zone has carried out "point-to-point" services in many aspects such as technological breakthroughs and innovation upgrading. Efforts are made to cultivate innovation subjects on the one hand, and invest in technology research and development on the other hand, and guide enterprises to cooperate with research institutions and universities simultaneously to carry out industry-university-research cooperation and create an innovation platform.

Up to now, the zone boasts 126 SRDI (Specialized, Refined, Differential, and Innovational) enterprises that use special and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, including 1 national-level "little giant" firm, 8 SRDI "little giant" enterprises, 6 provincial SRDI champion enterprises, 61 provincial-and-municipal-level SRDI enterprises, and 50 SRDI-to-be enterprises. Liu Gang, a member of the Party working committee and deputy director of the management committee of the Lu'an Economic and Technological Development Zone, said that the next step is to continue to make existing enterprises bigger and stronger, and focus on the industries of new energy vehicle supporting facilities and auto parts, and strive to build a park with an output value of more than 100 billion yuan by the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan".
