Recently, the reporter saw that the workers in the workshop are dealing with overseas orders for lithium-ion batteries in Tongcheng Gotion High-tech Co., Ltd. production base in Tongcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Tongcheng, a county-level city with a population of about 750 thousand has cultivated nearly 20 academicians. How to transform talent advantages into economic development advantages? The zone aims at three strategic emerging industries of new energy auto parts, photovoltaic new energy, and stable isotopes (medical engineering and medicine), so as to accurately attract investment, and accelerate the transformation and a leap-forward development.

Since 2020, 14 projects with an investment of over 1 billion yuan have been newly introduced in the zone, including 4 projects worth 3 billion yuan to 10 billion yuan and 3 projects worth more than 10 billion yuan. At present, there are more than 3,300 registered enterprises in the zone, including 15 foreign-funded enterprises, 74 provincial strategic emerging industrial enterprises, and 129 provincial high-tech industrial enterprises.

Wang Kui, a member of Party working committee and deputy director of the management committee of the Tongcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, said that the zone will spare no efforts to fully support the project, promote the industry and boost the economy, and strive to achieve the goal of "output value exceeding one hundred billion yuan, and tax revenue reaching ten billion yuan" by the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan".
