Dingji Town, located in the northwest of Yu'an District in Lu'an City, Anhui Province, is a famous "wedding dress town" in China. In the 1990s, numerous natives of Dingji town left for Huqiu, a wedding dress manufacturing base in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, more than 400 kilometers away from home, to work and start businesses. Over the past decades, many people from Lu’an have achieved success in business. In order to introduce these successful Lu'an people to return home and start up a business, Dingji Town launched employment and entrepreneurship policies to attract wedding companies to settle in the town. With the transformation of Huqiu wedding dress industry and the support of favorable policies in Dingji town, the "China Dingji Wedding Dress Characteristic Town" was built with an area of 3.15 square kilometers. The characteristic town integrates wedding dress design, production and processing, wedding products display, e-commerce, modern logistics, wedding photography, wedding culture, tourism and so on.

With more Dingji people returning home to start a business, the wedding industry was developed from scratch, and Dingji town has become a well-known "wedding dress town". Nowadays, more than 600 online shops selling wedding dresses have settled there, with an annual online sale of over 1 billion yuan. In this small town with a population of less than 60,000, more than 15,000 people have engaged in the wedding industry. In addition, the town is home to more than 400 wedding dress companies, over 100 wedding accessory manufacturers, with an annual output value of the wedding dress manufacturing industry exceeding 2.4 billion yuan and the export volume hitting 100 million yuan, providing a large number of jobs, and effectively driving the employment of surplus laborers in Dingji Town.
