On July 7, 2024, in Datong Town, a suburban area of Tongling City, Anhui Province, a unique natural landscape formed at the confluence of the Qingtong River and the Yangtze River where one half of the water is green and the other half is yellow, resembling a two-flavor hotpot. 

Due to the persistent high temperatures and scanty rainfall recently, the water level of the Yangtze River has fallen. The waters at the junction of the two rivers in Datong Town, Tongling City, showed a remarkable contrast because of the dual effects of the flood erosion of the Yangtze River and the sediment of the inland river.
