Fish rubbing is a folk art that features fish as its primary subject matter. It is documentary and ornamental, combining traditional Chinese rubbing techniques and traditional calligraphy and painting. Apply ink or pigment to the fish, and then put a piece of paper on it to print. Remove the paper and add details. The length, shape, and color of the fish are recorded on paper, seemingly alive. Hu Jijiang, the representative inheritor of Jieshou fish rubbing, combines traditional ink rubbing and modern painting pigments to create works integrating traditional Chinese painting elements and aesthetic concepts. The works enrich and expand the cultural connotation of fish rubbing, which blends ink and color.
