On May 18, the 2024 "Shishu Cup" Yangtze River Delta Lianxiang Dance Invitational Competition was held in Shishugang Village, Feixi County, Hefei. Nine teams from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui brought an audio-visual feast to the audience.

Lianxiang dance, a traditional Chinese folk dance, has a long history of 145 years and enjoys popularity in the Yangtze River Delta area. In Shishugang Village, learning Lianxiang dance has become a part of classroom learning in primary and secondary schools, and it’s also a national fitness program. At the event, dancers dressed in traditional costumes held a colorfully-decorated stick to tap their shoulders, arms, and legs.
