On November 24, 1978, 18 farmers from Xiaogang Village, Fengyang County, pressed their red fingerprints and secretly signed an agreement to contract collective land to individual households, marking the start of China’s rural reform. Today, the spirit of reform and innovation has endured and thrived on this land and the people of Fengyang are marching forward with greater strides.
