At the age of 13, Wang Qin was admitted to the Anhui Huangmei Opera School with outstanding results in 1991. Even as a student, she stood out for her emotionally rich and delicately nuanced performance style. In 2013, she won the 26th Plum Performance Award for her role in the brand-new large-scale stage play Half Moon. On March 17, 2025, Wang Qin made the list of the sixth batch of national-level representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage “Huangmei Opera”. This excellent performer embraces the philosophy of “preserving traditions without clinging to the past and pursing innovation without losing the roots”, infusing the art of Huangmei Opera with the charm of the modern times.
