Chizhou’s Nuo Opera, honored as the "living fossil of Chinese opera", is one of the first batch of national-level intangible cultural heritage projects. There’s a saying that goes like “no village is complete without Nuo traditions” in Chizhou, and it plays a vital role during Spring Festival as a ritual for blessings and good fortune.
