A river has witnessed the rise and fall of dynasties over thousands of years. From the Tongji Canal to the New Bianhe River, Suzhou city in Anhui province once rose to prominence alongside the Grand Canal during the Sui and Tang dynasties, and now continues to thrive under the nourishment of the New Bianhe River.

As the eastern section of the Tongji Canal over 1200 years ago, the Bianhe River witnessed commercial and cultural exchanges. Nowadays, the New Bianhe River has become a new lifeline for Suzhou and even the entire Huaibei Plain, driving the vigorous development of Suzhou's regional economy.
