Huoshan Huangya, one of the most famous teas in China, is deeply loved by tea lovers for its rich aroma and unique tea-making techniques. Huoshan Huangya enters the best picking season in April every year. Mozitan Town in Huoshan County, Lu’an City, is located at the foot of Baimajian, the highest peak of Dabie Mountains. Here, we meet spring and have an intimate dialogue with nature.
With the mild spring breeze, tea trees have sprouted all over the mountains. Entering the tea garden, we shuttle through tea fields together with tea farmers, dressed in tea clothes with a bamboo basket to harvest tea leaves. For those tea leaves, the first step is to spread them out and then put them in a wok and gently fry them to prevent oxidation. In this process, you could see those tea leaves dancing with attractive scent. Following steps are shaping, baking, etc. After a series of procedures, tea leaves can be put into the teapot. Pouring boiling water into it, you could feel tea fragrance gladdening your heart. Gently pick up the teacup, and have a taste. Let’s feel the beauty of spring in the aroma of tea!
