Hui ink, a treasure in the traditional Chinese ink, has been deeply cherished by scholars and poets since ancient times. In 2006, Hui ink-making craftsmanship was included in the first batch of the national intangible cultural heritage (ICH) list. Nowadays, Hu Cuixia, ICH inheritor in Jixi County, Anhui Province, adheres to the traditional ink-making techniques handed down for generations and deeply explores the profound cultural connotations of Hui ink at the same time, spreading its fragrance far and wide.
