Tianzhu Mountain is located within the territory of Qianshan City, Anhui Province, covering an area of 102.72 square kilometers. It is named for its main peak, Tianzhu Peak, which resembles a "pillar holding up the sky."

Tianzhu Mountain is both a national natural and cultural heritage site, a world geopark, a national 5A Tourist area, and a national forest park. It is among China's "Top Ten Most Promising Scenic Spots."

As an important part of "the Greater Huangshan Region" , Tianzhu Mountain, along with Huangshan Mountain and Jiuhua Mountain, is known as one of the "Three Famous Mountains of Anhui."（Zhang Yong）
